RE: Bag Awning Question

Is the Campout the TT type awning for PUPs? If so, I believe they no longer make them.

RE: Bag Awning Question

I had a bag awning on our old Jayco that had straps that went over the bag and snapped to the side of the camper thus stopping the bouncing around. That was the only one I have ever seen with those straps. Thought they were a very good idea.

RE: slideout dinette sag?

Exactly why I love my Camplite! The slide has stabilizers on it.

RE: Installing a breakaway switch

I read the directions that you linked to. I have one question, though....I have read that you do NOT want the brakes to activate while the electrical connection between the PUP an TV is still connected. I have heard you will fry your brake controller if you back feed it with 12V from the camper battery.

RE: Installing a breakaway switch

As others have indicated I am confused how you can have a trailer with electric brakes and no breakaway switch. Was the trailer purchased new or used. If new I would have a talk with the dealer why there was not a breakaway switch. If used the previous owner may have removed it???
I have owned 2 different trailers that had brakes but no break away switch.

RE: Lets talk about folding camper insurance

We have ours insured as an add-on to our auto policy with State Farm. My policy costs me around $75/year.

RE: How to fix propane valve on outside of PUP

www.mbsturgiss.com will probably have the quick-disconnect valve that you need. Give them a call and read the numbers off the old one and I'm sure that they will be able to hook you up.

RE: Camplite Questions

Gonzo,
My AC plug also hangs from the ceiling and plugs into an outlet next to the door. All the PUPs I've seen with AC have this sort of set-up.
Pacdog,
Do you have the crankdown stabilizers? That's what I have on mine and I love them. What do you mean by the cable binds?
We absolutely love our Camplite. I still can't believe how much of a difference the slide out makes.

RE: Lights on during Travel

Neither of my prior pop-ups had a safety switch to turn off the interior lights. One was a 1990 Jayco and the other was a mid 80's model.

RE: Yard Sale Score -- Camp Chef

I needed an extension hose with quick connect for my camp stove so I went to www.mbsturgill.com and they made one for me.

RE: Storage & Mice

Throw a cat in there. Every week or so, check on the food and water and change the litter box. You won't have mice, but you won't have upholstry either. And the litter box scent will be with you all summer. :W
Just cut a little "kitty door" in the floor and then you wouldn't have worry about letting him out!!

RE: Storage & Mice

I'll probably get flamed for this....
I have always used mothballs in mine during the winter and have, so far, not had any issues with mice. My mom uses them in her PUP as well and she's never had a problem. An afternoon of airing out in the spring has always gotten rid of the odor.
